Qatar Stars League : Qatar SC's Sebastian Soria Nets Double, Lekhwiya Stay Top

Uruguay-born Qatar international Sebastian Soria scored a double as Qatar SC moved into third spot on the Qatar Stars League table after a 3-1 win at Al Sadd on Friday.

The result maintained Qatar SC's 100 per cent away record this season, while ending Al Sadd's perfect home record in the eighth round of QSL fixtures.

Young Qatar star Khalfan Ibrahim had put Al Sadd ahead in the 30th minute as manager Cosmin Olaroiu's bold approach paid dividends, but Qatar SC hit back before the break when Soria levelled on 38 minutes.

The game was evenly poised until the 81st minute when Mohammed Omar put Qatar SC ahead from close-range, before Soria wrapped up the points in injury-time from the penalty spot.

After the game, Ivory Coast international Abdul Kader Keita had to be escorted off the pitch following a clash with Qatar SC players.

The result moves Qatar SC within two points of leaders Lekhwiya who strengthened their grip on top spot with a 2-0 victory at Al Khor on Wednesday.

Ivory Coast international Aruna Dindane got the opener with a first-half header, before Dame Traore sealed the points in the second-half.

Second-placed Al Arabi stayed one point behind Lekhwiya with a 1-0 win against arch-rivals Al Rayyan on Wednesday, thanks to Leonardo Pisculichi's second-half strike which came against the run of play.

Al Wakrah won the battle of the bottom two defeating Al Ahly 2-0 on Wednesday, with Youness Hawassi grabbing both goals.

On Thursday, Al Gharafa defeated struggling Umm Salal 2-0 with Iraq international Younis Mahmoud and Marcone Amaral scoring the goals, while Gabri missed a penalty for the losers.

Al Sailiya scored a stoppage-time goal through Fouzi Mubarak Ayish to draw 1-1 at Al Khiraitiyat, after Hassan Shami had given the hosts the lead on the hour mark.

Results:

Al Khor 0-2 Lekhwiya
Al Wakrah 2-0 Al Ahli
Al Rayyan 0-1 Al Arabi
Al Gharafa 2-0 Umm Salal
Al Kharitiyath 1-1 Al Sailiya
Al Sadd 1-3 Qatar SC
